About NIRMA

The New Integrated Rural Management Agency (NIRMA) was established in the year 1986 at
Nungphou Bazar, Sangaiyumpham Part-I, P.O. Wangjing -795148, Thoubal District, Manipur by
same dedicated youth volunteers and social activists as a non-governmental, non-sectarian,
non-denomination, non-political, non-profit making voluntary agency with the primary objective
of bringing about an overall development/welfare and an equitable/equatorial society in the
remote and less privileged areas. The present report highlights the organisation‟s activities and
significant achievement made during the period from 1st April, 2019 to 31st March, 2020.

Vision

NIRMA visualises a just society where in the people can enjoy economic freedom, quality, equal peace and harmony, social and spiritual well being, sound and healthy environment, upliftment of rural masses, healthy people, education and cultural.

Mission

NIRMA also actively support and involves in the development of people‟s particularly women’s capacity for the promotion of their social economic, cultural, political, health, education and environment status. The organisation also involves in dedication and sacrifice for the community for youth, Senior Citizens‟, children, poor & destitute to create a healthy and strong nation.

SENIOR CITIZENS’ HOME FOR 50 ELDERLY WOMEN

In accordance with the revised guideline of the scheme “Integrated Programme for Older Persons” and programme “Maintenance of Senior Citizens’ Homes for 50 Elderly Women” of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi NIRMA has been running programme “Maintenance of Senior Citizens’ Home for 50 Elderly Women” at Nungphou, Sangaiyumpham Part-I, P.O. Wangjing, Thoubal District, Manipur to fulfil the main objective of the scheme i.e. to improve the quality of life Senior Citizens by providing basic amenities like shelter, food, medical, care and entertainment opportunities and by encouraging productive and active ageing through providing support for capacity building of Non Governmental Organisation. The total number of beneficiary were 50 (Fifty) women according to the revised guideline. The total number of staff in the Home were 11 (Eleven) namely (i) Superintendent, (ii) Counselor, (iii) Yoga Therapist (Part time), (iv) Nurse (Part time), (v) Doctor1(Part time), (vi) Cook-2 (Full time), (vii) Chowkidar-1(Full time), (viii)Helper-2(Full time), and (ix) Cleaner-1(Full time) to run the Senior Citizens‟ Home for 50 Elderly Women smoothly, continuously and successfully. Pradhans of the Sangaiyumpham Part–I and Part-II G.P. with Zilla Parishad Member including Ward Members of the Panchayats shared their sympathy for the inmates.
